Read MoreBranchville Engine 811 was dispatched to I-95 & Route 212 (Powder Mill Road) for an accident. Crews found four vehicles involved in a rear-end collision with no injuries. The engine was cleared from the scene. While en route back to the station crews came across an accident that just happened at Rhode Island Ave and Sunnyside Ave. E811 provided barrier protection until the scene was turned over to Prince George’s County Police.

Engine 811B was dispatched as the 3rd due engine but upon arrival was upgraded to 1st due. Truck 34 arrived with fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 story wood frame dwelling. Engine 811B dropped a supply hose however, the hydrants were frozen. Engine 811B’s crew used roadside flares to thaw out a hydrant, hooked up and then stretched 2 hose lines on the initial attack. The fire was quickly extinguished on the first and second floors. Truck 834, Truck 814 and Engine 811B remained on the scene after clearing other units.
