9/11 Tribute at Branchville
This weekend Branchville’s membership had two important events to commemorate the 19th anniversary of 9/11.
On Friday evening the firehouse hosted a dinner with the volunteers who responded to The Pentagon. The event was attended by Past Chief Michael Hughes, Vice President John Gardiner, and Past President Victor Weatherford, who told their stories from that day to the younger members of the department. The other members who responded to The Pentagon but could not attend were Lani Lindsay, Michael “Root” Burrier, Steffen Santos, and Kevin Becker.
On Saturday morning the membership of Branchville climbed 110 stories at MFRI Headquarters to honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. Pictures of each of the 343 firefighters were brought along for the climb, and every last one made it to the top.
