House Fire in Beltsville

Just after 6:00 p.m., as Company 11 was finishing their p.m. apparatus checks and cleaning the station, they were alerted for a house on fire at 11612 Cedar Lane. Chief 831 went on-scene shortly after with heavy fire showing from side alpha and with an auto also on fire in the car port. Engine 811, staffed with 6 volunteers, along with Chief 811 and Chief 811-B responded. Engine 811 arrived on scene and established a secondary water supply, then advanced a line to side charlie and made entry into the basement. Chief 811 was assigned to the interior to check for extension in the attic while Chief 811-B was assigned to side charlie. Units were on scene for about 1.5 hours.
