First Due Basement Fire

Shortly after 2 Pm this afternoon (3/4/10) Engine 811 along with units from College Park, Riverdale, Berwyn Heights, and other nearby departments were alerted for a reported house fire in the 4800 block of Osage St in the Berwyn section of College Park.
First arriving, Chief 811A reported smoke showing from a one-story dwelling with a report of a fire in the basement area of the house.
Firefighters from Engine 811 advanced a hose line and made a quick and aggressive attack on the fire and were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes with no extension.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation
