Hey Guys! Great website! It's really fun to look at the pics and remember all you do there...I run into Jim around Belts. he catches me up on some of you guys that are still there since I left..but never forgotten ..It would be great to hang out with 111, 118, and you guys that remember me! I'll look for the next Hubcaps dance you have and see you there! Thanks for keeping us safe through the days and nights!
PS you got to go for that NJ slimelime parade one of these days!
I grew up all over PG County, living last on Cool Spring Rd. in Adelphi before moving to FL in the 60's. Moved to Canada in '08 to marry the love of my life and became a member of the FD here.
If you have a patch (or as they are called here, a crest) you're willing to swap, contact me via email with address and Ii'll send one for trade.
Stay safe and keep an eye on each others' back...
Ed

I was an active member in the mid 1970s. Glad to see a few of my friends from high school and Eng Co 11 became Chiefs. A great experience and learned a lot as a volunteer fireman and EMT. Probably helped me some getting into the AF Academy after high school.

Two popular books authored by John Finucane, about New York's fire-filled "War Years," of the 1960s and 70s, are available. They'll make perfect Christmas gifts for anyone interested in firefighting or in being educated about firefighting. The hardcover non-fiction book, The Usual, published by DMC Fire Books, is available at: www.dmcfirebooks.com. The exciting, fact-filled novel, When the Bronx Burned, is available through Amazon.com and Barnesandnobles.com. See website: www.whenthebronxburned.com for detailed info on these books and on ordering. Site also has a photo slideshow on the burning of the South Bronx.
KINDLY PASS THIS CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA ALONG TO THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS

God Bless each and every one of you and keep you as safe as you keep us every day! Co. 11 you will never know what this day meant to our family. Our Dad would not have been able to be there with out the selfless compassion that Branchville showed. We are soooo indebted to you. A special shout out to the following people: John and Janice Gardner and Patty Meadows without whom this would not have been possible! And a special thank you to all the guys there that made this day special for my Dad ... Tommy Baker, Ronnie Sr., George Amos, Gary Chaney, Root, and all of the rest of you! You truly are Branchville's finest! Take a look @ your facebook page for a picture of the day!

On behalf of the entire Duvall family, I Would like to take the time to thank the members and staff of The Branchville Volunteer Fire Company & Rescue Squad Co. 11 for their kindness and generosity in helping arrange to transport my father to the upcoming ceremony honoring HIS father for his 45 years of service to the Fire Dept. and the community. I want to thank John Gardiner and Patty Meadows in particular for volunteering their time to help get my father there. It means a great deal to him, to me, and to my entire family. If there is anything we can do to repay you for your generosity, please don't hesitate to ask. Many of the members of Branchville are 2nd and 3rd generation members and have parents and/or grandparents who served alongside our parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles. Even though our family has not been as involved in the Fire Dept. as close as we used to be, we still consider all of you part of a family that we hold dear to our hearts. Thank you all and GOD BLESS YOU! LETS ROLL!!!

TO ALL FIREFIGHTERS:
I would like to inform you of a retired firefighter who is now fighting for his life. His name is Fred Dunn, who was at a number of firehouses in the Greenbelt, College Park and Berwyn Heights areas.
Firefighters can send Electronic Get Well Cards to: Fred Dunn osjd@hotmail.com . He at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He can not receive cards or flowers into his room. He is in a germ free environment. Fred sounds really strong, stronger than I had imagined. They found cancerous cells in the spinal fluid during his pre-op for the eye cancer. So they treated the eye first now they are attacking the cancerous cells in the spinal fluid. With treatment, the mortality rate is 5%.
His family and friends would appreciate your help in this matter. If we can keep up his spirits, we hope he will fight for his life.
Thank you so much
Judy Farrall
I tried to send this to your e-mail address but it came back.

Thank you so much for the memorial to our Dad, John M. Carter, that you have on your Internet Site. Although he was 99, he still had many good memories of the years spent as President and as a volunteer for Branchville. After he moved to Florida, we kept him up dated on your activities and your valuable contributions to the town of College Park, as firemen and squadsmen. We, too, keep you close in our heart.
Fondly, Jack and Peg Carter and family

Just wanted to drop in and say hello from Branchville Hose Company. I think it's great that we both run "slimelime" trucks, what are the odds? Some of us are interested about coming down some time and you guys are always welcome up here in Jersey for a visit, not that exciting here but you're still welcome. Also our 100th anniversary is next year, we defidently would love for you guys to come up for the parade then.

John,
First, I must say I am shocked--I thought you had to have a heart before you could suffer a heart attack. You know I am only joking.
The Officers and Members of the Brandywine Volunteer Fire Department wish you a speedy recovery. Until then, we will do our best to make up for the economic loss here on the Southside that the Northside bars will be taking during your recovery period.
Call if you need anything and can't get any answer at 11, 13 or 20.
